federal & local background checks
Every helper undergoes background checks including FBI fingerprinting. California staff are Trustline/LiveScan registered.
CPR & first aid certified
Helpers maintain a valid pedicatric and adult CPR certification, as well as their first aid certification through reputable trainers and organizations.
OPSEC compliant
A Helping Hand understands the importance of national security within our military communities. We are proud to collaborate to provide OPSEC-compliant training for all Helpers.
reference verifications
All applicants must provide at least two professional and two personal references to speak on behalf of their ethics, character and previous experiences.

Helper employees are covered by A Helping Hand’s general liability policy held with a top-rated insurance provider. This coverage is unique in our industry and specific to our services.
extensive vetting
Our Helpers are an elite team of top-providers in our industry. We carefully select candidates that will uphold our high standards of care. Only 10% of applicants pass our stringent vetting procedures and successfully join our team.

standard rates
We have a 3-hour minimum on all scheduled services.*
$15 Booking fee*, PLUS:
- One Child: $30/hour
- Two Children: $31/hour
- Three Children: $32/hour
- Four Children: $33/hour
- Five Children: $34/hour
holiday fees
Our holiday fees are paid directly to our Helpers for their exceptional committment in providing support on holidays:
- $25 holiday fee for services provided on the following holidays: New Years Day, Valentine’s Day/Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
- $50 holiday fee for services provides on New Year’s Eve.
cancellation policy & fee
A Helping Hand has a strict 24-hour cancellation policy.
Cancellation of accepted services within 24-hours of the service being performed will incur a $39 cancellation fee.
*For direct-pay families, booking fee are billed upon acceptance of your service request and must be paid in full, 48 hours prior to your service start date. Mileage fees incurred for use of Helper’s personal vehicle.

Before scheduling your first service, you'll need to register your family by completing our online Family Information Sheet.

approval & account set up
Upon submission each family is personally reviewed by our management team to ensure the right fit. Following our review, you’ll receive a Welcome email with a temporary password to access your account and begin scheduling services.
*PLEASE NOTE: the approval process generally takes 8-12 hours, longer on weekends
