Courtney Davis, Owner A Helping Hand

Courtney Davis, Owner

Courtney is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, but thanks to her dad’s Navy career, her family moved around quite a bit during her early years. She knows firsthand the ups and downs of parenthood—the challenges and the incredible joys—and has made it her mission to support families through quality childcare.

In 2008, Courtney started A Helping Hand in Virginia Beach with a goal of providing personalized, professional, and truly exceptional in-home childcare. Just a few years later, in 2011, she brought A Helping Hand across the country and opened a second branch in San Diego, California.

Today, the company is run by an amazing management team of strong, hardworking women who help represent A Helping Hand from coast to coast. The team also includes about 75 Helpers who provide childcare services every day to families who deserve the very best.

In 2010, Courtney added On-site Event Childcare to the mix, helping turn adults-only events into family-friendly ones. What started as a local service quickly expanded—first regionally, then nationally, and now globally!

A Helping Hand was Courtney’s first “baby,” until her real babies—Ethan, Grayson, and Jaxon—came along and made her world even brighter.

Kim Arnold, Western Division Manager

Kim Arnold grew up in Virginia before making the move west to San Diego, where she found her place with A Helping Hand. What started as a new role in a new city quickly became a passion for supporting families and growing a strong team of providers throughout the Western Division.

With a background in Business Management and Child Development, Kim blends creativity with structure, bringing fresh ideas while keeping families’ needs at the heart of every decision. She thrives on building lasting relationships with both clients and caregivers, ensuring that every family feels cared for, supported, and confident in the services they receive.

As part of A Helping Hand’s all-women leadership team, Kim values mentorship and collaboration, believing that the best childcare comes from a team that feels empowered and connected.

Outside of work, Kim’s greatest joy comes from her own two children, Bryson and Brinleigh, who inspire her daily to create spaces where kids can learn, play, and thrive.
